The role requires you to undertake Plc design, programming, commissioning, alongside providing support throughout the complete project lifecycle. On occasions you may also be asked to support with the robot programming, vision systems and have an understanding of good manufacturing practice guidelines. Collaborate with clients and internal staff to design concepts that meet requirements. Assist in developing cost estimates for proposals. Create validation documentation, including software design specifications, test records and supporting documentation like O&M manuals, software releases, and disaster recovery plans. Design, code, commission, test and provide aftermarket support for our bespoke machinery worldwide. Conduct system validation, including Factory Acceptance Testing and oversee validation. Requirements of a Controls Software Engineer: Proven experience designing Plc software alongside supporting existing applications. Competent with communication protocols (e.g., EtherCAT, Profinet, CAN, IP, Serial, etc.) Competent with IEC 61131-3, C#, Java or Structured Text.
