Job Title: Head of Engineering Location: London / Hybrid Job Type: Full-Time An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Engineering to join a leading organisation driving forward its digital transformation strategy. About the Role: As the Head of Engineering, you will take ownership of the software development, technical architecture, and application management functions within the organisation. You'll be tasked with driving innovation, ensuring the scalability and security of their systems, and leading a diverse team of engineers to deliver cutting-edge solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to ensure technical strategies align with broader organisational goals. Key Responsibilities: Lead the transformation of engineering functions across the organisation. Develop and implement strategic plans for the technical architecture. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams. Ensure the adoption of best practices in software development, including agile, DevOps, and CI/CD. Oversee recruitment, performance management, and development of engineering teams. Manage relationships with key technology suppliers, ensuring SLAs are met. Serve as a key point of contact for all technical matters, reporting to senior stakeholders. Technologies & Tools: You will need to have experience managing teams working with modern technologies such as complex front-end frameworks & back-end services, cloud platforms, containerisation, microservices architecture, and DevOps practices. Familiarity with automation tools, API management, and Infrastructure as Code is also advantageous. Qualifications: A minimum of 8 years’ experience in software engineering and architecture, with proven experience in technical leadership roles. Strong technical skills and hands-on experience managing software development and architecture teams. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. A proactive problem-solver with experience navigating complex technical challenges.
