What you'll be doing:
  • Providing input to the PrincipalEngineering Manager (Site Safety Case) on production of effectivesafety cases through application of appropriate analytical methodsand development of the documentation structure
  • Responsible for the provision of authoritative advice,guidance, mentoring and coaching of safety case specialists todevelop and maintain an effective safety case capability Providing authoritative guidance on the development ofan appropriate safety case structure, development processes andassociated analytical methods Actingas a senior SME for safety case development Ensuringthat the Site Safety Case Team undertakes all activities in amanner consistent with Company Policy, Business Processes and theQuality Assurance programme Actingas a point of contact with internal and external safety andregulatory authorities Representing the company at internal/external meetingsassociated with safety and regulation of nuclear sites asnecessary
Your skills and experiences:

Essential:
  • Degree in STEM subject (orequivalent experience)
  • Extensive knowledge of the techniques and methodologyused in the development of safety cases that meet relevant goodpractice UKnuclear legislation, nuclear industry, site licensing,authorisation and environmental permitting and associated industryguidance
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of the UK nuclearregulatory landscape and permissioning requirements
  • Experience within the UK submarine buildprogramme Attained, or working towards, Membership of a relevantprofessional institute

Site Safety Caseteam:

The team is responsible forproducing nuclear safety cases supporting build and commissioningactivities for the Astute- and Dreadnought-class submarines, and toenable ongoing Site Redevelopment Project works where theyinterface with the submarine build programmes. We are alsoresponsible for delivering the Periodic Review of Safety workpackage.

As a Nuclear SafetyCase Developer, you will be providing authoritative guidance on thedevelopment of an appropriate safety case structure, developmentprocesses and associated analytical methods. Additionally, you willbe responsible for the development of training packages focussed onnuclear safety methodologies and delivering these as required inorder to ensure the Site Safety Case team staff are appropriatelytrained.

In this role you will haveexposure to a number of exciting programmes that are key to theUK's security.
