JOB TITLE: Senior Quality Engineer – 12 Month FTC
SALARY: £68,202 - £75,780
LOCATION(S): Bristol
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our London location.
About this opportunity:
Are you interested in joining an innovative platform team dedicated to modernizing the mobile app development lifecycle within our bank? This is your chance to play a crucial role in driving quality solutions and enabling continuous testing of our mobile app.
Our team consists of Quality Engineers (QEs) focused on mobile testing, embedded within cross-functional teams delivering fully functional features. You will be empowered to ensure that user-facing changes are tested effectively.
What will you be doing with us?
Determine the best automated testing strategies to ensure safe deployment while minimizing time spent on resolving flaky tests.
Assist and inspire your team to perform the necessary tests, both manually and automated. You may assist as needed, but extensive hands-on testing will not be a regular part of your day-to-day activities.
Distribute testing efforts within the team.
Leading, Innovating & working as part of an agile team.
Use your experience of modern software development toolsets and demonstrate the ability to stretch into DevOps, Continuous Integration and Delivery pipelines.
Using toolsets such as Selenium Webdriver, Jenkins, Harness, Postman/Thunderclient, Jira/Xray, non-functional test tools, continuous integration tools, with a focus on industry leading and open-source tooling.
Work "hands-on" alongside all other Engineering Disciplines
Model the behaviours required to support the organisation's transformation to new ways of working.
Logical and creative thinking skills
Ability to work independently and to take ownership - and use own initiative.
Work with a range of internal and external colleagues
Communicate effectively in a variety of situations.

What you’ll need
A solid Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering background with excellent knowledge of Test Lifecycle, Test Models, Best Practices, Test Benchmarking and Test Tools. This includes a good awareness of Test Data and Environments.
Be able to project and implement "Automation first" approach in every phase of software delivery process that aids speed to market, better quality and reduces risks.
Experience with toolsets including Selenium, WDIO, HeadSpin,ALM, Cucumber, GitHub, Postman; with a willingness to learn and develop those skills that will be needed for success in the future.
Work in cross-disciplinary feature teams delivering exciting customer driven solutions and high-quality software.
Showcase excellent interpersonal and communications skills whilst expertly working across the project lifecycle to ensure software operates as intended.
Exercise responsibility, autonomy and judgement within broad, but well-defined parameters.
Work in a highly collaborative way to complete assigned work, showcase progress and address problems that are well defined, complex, and often non-routine.
Be a quick learner with a growth mindset adapting to new technologies being used within Lloyds and the wider industry whilst bringing those around them on the same journey.
Significant problem solving, fixing and analytical skills.
Experience of leading test teams, test management, Coordination of testing across our partners and mentoring junior team members.
