Engineering Manager

We are currently working with a world-leading consortium to deliver one of the UK’s largest energy infrastructure projects. This project involves the construction of two 525kV High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) converter stations , with subsea transmission cables extending from Scotland to England. It will transmit renewable energy to power more than two million homes across the UK. We're seeking an Engineering Manager who will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of this landmark project. Start Date : January 2024 (Design Phase) Duration : Ongoing (Construction begins in 2025) Location : UK-Based (Hybrid Working Model) Rate : Competitive All-Inclusive Day Rate (DOE) Responsibilities : Manage the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phases for HVDC converter stations and associated grid infrastructure. Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and contractors to ensure the successful delivery of all engineering solutions. Oversee the implementation of advanced HVDC technology, including VSC valves and control systems. Ensure compliance with UK regulations, IEC 61850 standards, and IFC performance standards. Act as the primary point of contact between the consortium and client stakeholders, providing technical leadership and coordination. Monitor project schedules, budgets, and engineering milestones. Liaise with cross-functional teams to mitigate project risks and resolve issues. Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. Proven experience in managing HVDC or large-scale grid infrastructure projects. Knowledge of HVDC technology, particularly VSC systems. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Fluency in both written and spoken English.
