Design Engineer duties include
- Design and develop tooling and fixtures, ensuring DFM principles are incorporated.
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings for prototypes and high-volume production.
- Provide technical support for modifying existing tooling and fixtures
- Manage the entire design process from concept to production, ensuring smooth project progression.
- Collaborate with production engineering teams on APQP and IATF documentation, ensuring designs meet quality and manufacturability standards.
- Develop prototypes using 3D printing technology to validate designs and test functionality.
Design Engineer desirable skills and experience -
- Experience in a similar position (assembly fixtures and tooling).
- Knowledge of modern manufacturing methods and techniques.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and pressure vessels would be an advantage.
- Relevant engineering education and/or training.
