Redline are operating alongside a client who work to serve the global Aerospace and Defence Industries. They work on high tech, mission critical systems and are looking to secure a Contract Embedded Software Engineer to aid them in a long-term project, working on a hybrid basis at their Reading offices. This role has an indicative OUTSIDE IR35 determination therefore we can accept candidates who would like to operate through their own PSC. The Contract Embedded Software Engineer will work within an engaging team, as well as independently. They will be developing and maintaining existing code and compiling that code onto the product, ultimately ensuring the product is fit for purpose for their customer Key Skills Required - Contract Embedded Software Engineer, Reading - Strong experience of using programming languages such as C/C++, Bash and Python - Experience of working with Linux RPM or Red Hat - Kernel driver development (in particular Video 4 Linux API) - Experience of integration testing Those with specific experience in video standards such as HD-SDI, S-Video etc will be of particular interest Applicants must be able to obtain BPSS/SC Clearance.
