Job Title: Weekend Toolroom Die Maintenance Technician- Double Day and Night Shift available.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Toolroom Die Maintenance Technician to maintain tooling equipment and support the Toolroom Supervisor to ensure smooth Toolroom operations.

The role is essential for maintaining our tooling equipment, addressing both preventive and unplanned maintenance, and contributing to our commitment to quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tool Preparation & Maintenance: Prepare and maintain tooling as per specifications to ensure quality and timely production.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform daily PM routines, ensuring tooling is safe and production-ready.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose tooling issues, implement corrective actions, and notify supervisors if issues are unresolved.
  • Engineering Support: Aid in managing spare parts and facilitating engineering changes.
  • Fabrication & Testing: Prepare and test tools, fabricate prototype parts as needed, and validate machined or repaired tools.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect tooling dimensions, clearances, and alignments to meet specifications.
  • Tool Setup & Inspection: Set up and inspect tooling prior to removal from machinery, ensuring functionality.
  • Collaborative Feedback: Follow up on repairs by coordinating with production and quality teams and documenting work.
  • Health & Safety: Uphold and promote health, safety, and environmental policies across the plant.
Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Time-Served Apprentice: Formal apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
  • Toolroom Proficiency: Skilled in hand tools (provided), reading engineering drawings, and using toolroom equipment like overhead cranes.
  • Technical Equipment: Experienced with inspection tools (micrometer, height indicator, etc.), and machinery such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Proven ability to follow and implement maintenance schedules.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and ability to prioritize tasks within a manufacturing environment.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of vacuum die-set servicing, particularly for aluminum.
  • Experience in die casting and repair of support tooling (trim tools, spray heads, etc.).
  • Competence with CNC machines and welding (TIG and MIG).
  • Understanding of engineering materials and CMM reporting.
  • Background in hydraulic system maintenance and 5S methodology.
