Location: Cambridge (CB25) Duration: Permanent Hours: 9am until 5:30pm (Monday to Friday) Salary: £70000 - £85000 Job Reference: 35490 Polytec are looking for a Senior Android Platform Software Engineer for our client based just north of Cambridge. You will focus on the development, configuration and tuning of the Android platform, Android framework/service alterations and the Android development toolchain. Responsibilities: * Android platform development, kernel configuration * Trialling and integrating open-source development tools * Monitoring relevant Android community mailing lists * Prototyping of demonstration systems to generate early feedback * Production of architectural, design and test specifications * Integration testing, investigation and resolution of issues * Project planning and technical reviews Requirements: * Degree in a relevant field * Significant contribution to the platform development of a commercially released product using Android * Good understanding of Android architecture and ecosystem * Understanding of the Android SDK and APIs (especially telecoms and networking) * Experience optimising Android performance * Experience with Binder, AIDL, Services (C++/Java), Framework APIs, NDK, JNI and CTS * Excellent knowledge of the C++ programming language in real-time multi-processor, multi-threaded, event-driven software * Experience of developing for mobile platforms Please contact us as soon as possible for more details or apply below
