Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Slinfold, Horsham Salary: 45k- 47k plus excellent benefits Hours: 9.00am -5.00pm, Mon- Thurs,* 9.00am -2.00pm Fri* 35 hour working week An excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join this impressive engineering company which continues to grow from strength to strength. Their in-house design, manufacture and test capabilities provide their customers with a flexible, fast to market, solution-based service. The Role: * To successfully navigate multiple concurrent projects from concept through to delivery ensuring all projects are delivered on time, to specification and within budget. * To Support sales team with customer technical enquiries regarding advice on products in companies’ portfolio and products selection BOM building. * Support production team with documentation -part setup & BOM setup/check, building/ updating manuals, and technical advice. * To operate within a specialist Engineering Team and be able to manage multiple interfaces, both externally in terms of customers and internally with Sales, Operations and Production. Skills * An Engineering background with a minimum of HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering and recent detailed experience designing electro-mechanical assemblies. * Experienced with SolidWorks 2018 and ideally have a working knowledge of AutoCad Inventor * Experience with 3D mechanical design experience plus production of 2D detail drawings to BS308 and preparation of assembly Bills of Material (in MS Excel). * Ability to carry designs through from initial 3D concepts, to detailed modelling and manufacturing drawings is essential. * Confident with MS Office Qualities: * Highly motivated and a natural forward planner who critically assesses their own performance but is also credible and comfortable in dealing with both internal and external contacts. * An empathetic communicator who is well presented and business-like and has a keen eye for attention to detail. * Possess a positive, hardworking, “can do” attitude. * A team player with a flexible nature.
