Solution Designer London, Swindon, Bournemouth or Glasgow (all with travel to Swindon Adhoc) Hybrid Set up (x2 days in office/ x3 WFH) Central Functions provide a variety of core business services and technology solutions that underpin the operational and regulatory capabilities of the Society. The Finance domain within Central Functions has extensive and exciting portfolios of change planned, which has created an opportunity for a Solution Designer to join the team. We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Solution Designer to help Nationwide’s Finance Architecture team realise its strategic outcomes through IT change and innovation. What you’ll be doing As a Solution Designer you will use your expertise and experience to refine and interpret business requirements into design specifications that will inform developers and infrastructure engineers enabling them to deliver resilient, secure and performant solutions. You will work with Business Analysts, Architects, Engineers and other stakeholders to define both high-level and detailed documentation, ensuring compliance with our organisational guardrails to deliver the right solutions in the right way. About you To be successful in this role you will have: Demonstrable track record of solution analysis and design across a variety of projects. Experience in applying reference architectures, patterns and standards. Proven delivery of high-quality project deliverables including High-Level Designs, Detailed Designs, Interface Specifications and Impact Assessments. Comprehensive integration design experience (e.g. batch, API). Worked with Agile and/or ‘waterfall’ based methodologies. The ability and mindset to quickly learn new technologies concepts and apply them to create new solutions is essential. Some development experience as a practical foundation for design. Experience with data design and modern data platforms (e.g. Data Lakehouse). Experience in at least one of the following areas: Financial Services, or other similar regulated sectors. Cloud and On-premises development projects. Infrastructure and network design. Technologies such as: SAP S/4HANA FPSL, Oracle PeopleSoft Financials, Autorek, Hyperion, Board, QRM, SAS.
