Our client who pride themselves on their in-house design expertise, delivering tailored solutions for both UK and European projects, is seeking a passionate and talented CAD Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. The Role: As a CAD Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating innovative, functional, and manufacturable designs for the company's products. You’ll be involved with design projects from concept to completion, collaborating closely with internal teams and customers to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in production. Using 3D CAD software, you will produce detailed models, technical drawings, and specifications to meet both customer needs and industry standards. You’ll also have the opportunity to influence the design of new products and enhance the performance of existing ranges. Key Responsibilities: * Design & Develop: Create bespoke sheet metal components and assemblies to meet customer specifications. * Collaboration: Work with the sales team and customers to design concepts and produce drawings for approval. * CAD Mastery: Generate flat patterns for CADCAM engineers, ensuring designs are suitable for tooling and machinery. * Technical Documentation: Produce detailed production drawings for punch, fold, and assembly operations. * Reverse Engineering: Convert historical 2D files into advanced 3D models to improve technical detail and design quality. * Project Leadership: Lead design projects, including the creation of new products and redesign of existing product ranges. * Cross-Department Coordination: Ensure design projects stay on track, meeting both technical and financial targets, through collaboration with production, sales, and other teams. * Continuous Improvement: Actively seek design improvements to enhance efficiency, performance, and manufacturability. * Troubleshooting: Address production issues related to design and manufacturing, finding solutions to ensure smooth operations.
