Tendering Design Engineer

Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting: We are looking for a Tendering/Design Engineer for a permanent position in Halifax. Salary is between £40,000 and £45,000 per annum. The successful candidate will be responsible for the understanding of customer requirements with regards equipped Pillars. Drawing package competency to enable creation of GA and wiring schematics and design experience in electrical switchgear and systems is essential for this role. This will involve creating General Arrangement drawings, wiring schematics and Bills of Material and from those identifying costs and submitting quotations to customers. You will also be working with the manufacturing team to ensure a safe product of the expected quality is produced cost effectively and delivered in a timely manner. Responsibilities: Create product drawing packages in line with customer specifications. Create quotations and submit to customers. Specify components to create accurate Bills of Material. Ensure that margins for tenders are in line for our client's business objectives of 40% profitability. Design product for manufacture to ensure efficient production of equipped pillars. Review drawing packages with the Equipped Pillar senior electrician. Review manufacturing issue feedback sheets and put in place corrective actions to prevent repeat occurrences. Update drawings where necessary to reflect the as built status of the PWP after any agreed changes. Visit suppliers and customers as necessary. To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required/instructed to maintain or improve the efficiency quality and service provided by the PWP business unit.Skills: Computer literate in Microsoft Office. Experience of liaising with customers and interpreting their requirements. Good communicator Team focused Analytical and ability to problem solveEducation Level required: O Level in Mathematics, English and Sciences Competent in the use of Microsoft office HNC in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
