Job Requirements / Description

Heidi

Heidi was born to make it easy for more and more people to discover the power of the mountains. We burst onto the ski holiday market in 2018 (formally known as Ski Zoom) and have seen exponential growth.

The company came from a desire to fix the lack of flexibility in the winter ski market. We help skiers and mountain lovers discover resorts that are hidden gems alongside the classics, and our clever tech is helping them to do it in a way that suits them best. We’re a youthful, challenger brand, with an awesome culture, and we’re shaking up a very traditional ski/mountain holiday industry.

We have huge ambitions for growth, and we are looking for someone who will be fundamental to the success of our vision and is excited to help us drive that forward

The role

Our tech stack is a mix of ASP.NET core on the backend and React/NextJS and Tailwind on the frontend. We use both serverless and cloud hosted architecture depending on what we’re building.

What you’ll be doing

  • Developing our ASP.NET Core APIs and serverless systems.
  • Improving the existing NextJS/React frontend or travel companion app.
  • Building new features for our customers, internal tools to make our colleagues' lives easier, or integrating with a new supplier.
  • Upgrading our platform and infrastructure as our business and traffic grow.
  • Delivering work using agile methodologies.
  • Contributing to cross cutting concerns that improve our engineering function.
  • Being actively involved in the planning and technical architecture of our company roadmap.
  • Helping the team meet its goals by collaborating with and helping other team members.

What you will bring

  • Experience with cloud native ASP.NET Core APIs.
  • You’re experienced with relational database design and performance optimization. (MySQL, SQL Server)
  • You have experience with front-end Javascript frameworks and website performance. (javascript, react etc.)
  • Docker experience for developer, testing and ideally production environments [Bonus: if you have experience hosting your own application in real production environments with production traffic (not handing off to an ops team)]
  • Delivery focused but aware of the bigger picture and can design systems to adapt and change over time
  • You can work and communicate effectively with other teams in the business and can provide a balanced perspective between technical and business priorities.
  • You want to be a key member of a growing company, and have a direct impact on our success and are comfortable with the ambiguity this entails

Why work with us?

  • A competitive base salary
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays + 4 “me/wellbeing” days
  • Flexible working: we’re open to remote, hybrid or office-based working. If you’re remote, we have an office in central Bristol for you to visit and connect with the rest of the Heidi gang
  • £1,000 Heidi holiday credit + additional holiday discounts.
  • Vitality health insurance.
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • A chance to build something great and work with a fantastic bunch of people.

We want to create an inclusive environment that celebrates the diversity of our people whilst enabling them to do the best work of their careers. We are committed to ensuring that all our people processes are equitable. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or parental status, national origin, veteran, neurodiversity status or disability status
