Diesel Generator Engineer

We are looking to recruit an experienced generator engineer for a well established client in the village of Measham, just outside of Swadlincote.
Our client is a leader in providing temporary building rentals across various sectors, including construction, healthcare, and commercial industries. Each unit is customized to meet specific requirements and undergoes thorough servicing to ensure the highest quality before being dispatched to clients.
Your work hours will be from 07:00 to 16:30, totaling 45 hours per week. Overtime may be available during peak periods, compensated at 1.5 times the regular rate.
This position is primarily on-site, with occasional travel to client locations for emergency situations, collaborating closely with the operations team. Your daily responsibilities will include:
* Routine maintenance of generators
* Performing necessary repairs and proactively inspecting for potential risks or damages
* Traveling to client sites for urgent repair needs
* Coordinating with the operations team to order parts and equipment
* Conducting final safety inspections of generators prior to delivery
* Assisting the operations team with additional repair, maintenance, and cleaning tasks to ensure timely delivery schedules are met.
What we're looking for:
* Reside locally to facilitate easy access to the depot and its clients
* Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing commercial diesel generators
* Familiarity with regular generator maintenance protocols
* Capability to install plumbing and electrical components
* Willingness to assist the operations team with fabrication and cleaning tasks during downtime.
* Experience with brands such as Stephill, Genquip, or AJC would be beneficial
* Previous welding skills would be beneficial
