My client is an established multi-disciplined civil engineering contractor and with the recent award of a long-term delivery programme are recruiting for a Senior Engineer to strengthen their Operations Team in East London.
Delivering various civil engineering and water infrastructure projects across the Greater London region, candidates will supervise Trainee Engineers/Site Engineers duties from establishing the level and survey control for contracts, setting out detailed works as per the contract drawings and ensuring regular checks.
Additional responsibilities include:
* Ensuring records regarding health and safety and the work environment are complete, accurate and comply with organisational and legal requirements.
* Delivering works safely, without environmental incidents, and to the specified quality without defects.
* Assisting the Site Agent/Sub Agent in developing efficient work methods and techniques, ensuring the best use of resources and abilities are made.
* Acting as Sub Agent/Site Agent where required.
Carrying out instrumental checks in accordance with the agreed guidelines and schedule.
* Completing records of quality audits in accordance with agreed procedures and timescales.
* Compiling ITP’s.
Obtaining all as built information ensuring that it is accurate and relevant.
* Producing accurate records, drawing registers, and weekly diaries that will be measured routinely as part of the quality audit process.
* Developing relationships with clients, site teams and stakeholders.
Successful candidates will possess:
* Previous experience in setting out on civil engineering projects including highways, infrastructure, and reinforced concrete works.
* Degree/HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
* Valid CSCS and SMSTS accreditation.
* IT proficiency with AutoCAD software.
* Confined space training (desirable).
* Ability to manage and deliver a successful project with minimal guidance.
* Experience in running reports and ensuring accurate record keeping.
* Ability to challenge designs and resolve issues to conclusion.
* Exceptional communication, people/team management, influence and leadership skills.
