Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

Principal Mechanical Engineer – Birmingham Our client is a well-established multi-disciplinary design consultancy, delivering innovative projects across diverse sectors such as residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, advanced manufacturing, data centres, and energy. They are currently expanding their Birmingham City Centre office and are looking to recruit a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer. In this role, you will lead and oversee design projects from concept through to RIBA Stage 3, ensuring excellence across a variety of sectors. This opportunity is ideal for Senior Mechanical Engineers looking to step up in their career or experienced Principal Engineers seeking to work on high-profile, nationally recognized projects Key Responsibilities: * Support and lead design projects from concept design to RIBA Stage 3. * Leading team of engineers, modellers, technicians. * Liaise with the BIM team to refine deliverables to meet project programs and deliverables. * Liaising with external clients and building relationships, acting as technical lead in meetings. * Support the development of the education sector and business development initiatives. The Person * 4+ years experience as Senior Engineer or experience as Principal Engineer. * Experienced in client engagement including organising and leading meetings. * Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Hevacomp, Bluebeam (not all essential). * Ideally some experience in education sector
