Job Title: Engineer - Automatic Gate & Barrier Engineer Salary: £180-£200 per day Self Employed (depending on experience) Location: South East and London Company Overview: Our client is a well-established automation company with over 30 years of experience in the industry. They are currently seeking an Automatic Gate & Barrier Engineer to join their growing team on a full-time, permanent basis. The company specializes in the installation, maintenance, servicing, repair, and fault-finding of automatic gates and barriers. Role Overview: As an Automatic Gate & Barrier Engineer, you will be responsible for a variety of skilled tasks, including installing, maintaining, and repairing automatic gates, barriers, and similar equipment. You’ll be working across London and the South East, providing technical expertise for automatic sliding, swing, revolving gates, and car park barriers from manufacturers such as FAAC, BPT, CAME, and NICE. This role is field-based, and you'll work both independently and as part of a team. The company values continuous learning and will provide full training where needed. Key Responsibilities: * Install, maintain, service, and repair automatic gates and barriers using equipment from various manufacturers (FAAC, BPT, CAME, NICE, etc.) * Fault-finding and troubleshooting on different security systems * Provide high-quality work and ensure customer satisfaction * Communicate effectively with clients and the administration team * Ensure compliance with industry regulations and professional standards * Work closely with team members and assist in training junior engineers * Willingness to travel around London and the South East Skills and Experience: * Minimum 2 years’ experience working with automatic gates (sliding, swing, revolving) and car park barriers, bollards, or similar equipment * Full UK Driving Licence * Knowledge of security products from manufacturers such as FAAC, CAME, BPT, BENINCA, and Parking Facilities * Strong communication skills * DHF Gate Safety qualification (desirable but not essential; company will provide training) * Ability to self-motivate and work with a positive attitude * Comfortable traveling in and around London on a daily basis Salary & Benefits: * PAYE or Self-Employed options available * £180-£200 per day or £45,000-£52,000 DOE * Travel paid * Sign-written company vehicle (fully stocked) * Fuel card * Company mobile phone * Uniform and PPE provided * Full access to trade accounts (no expense reclaim needed) * Training opportunities for courses that benefit both the engineer and the business * Additional pay on OOH rota (1 in every 4 weeks) PAYE Additional Benefits: * Enrolment in pension scheme after 3 months * 20 days holiday plus bank holidays * SSP (Statutory Sick Pay) If you’re an experienced Automation Engineer with a strong background in automatic gates and barriers, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established company with excellent progression and training opportunities.
