Nexos are looking for Head of Discipline to join our Electrical Engineering Team. This is a key role to lead the Electrical Team as we continue our growth journey both in our existing EPC market and towards our energy transition goals.


This is a full-time, permanent role based in Aberdeen.


As Head of Electrical your day-to-day focus will include:

  • Providing daily line management to the Electrical department and assisting with setting workload and objectives for individuals.
  • Providing technical support to projects/workscopes, as required.
  • Managing overall discipline across projects/teams to utilise resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Carrying out periodic and regular audits/“health checks” on projects and deliverables to monitor consistency and quality of output.
  • Championing a culture of technical innovation within the Electrical department.
  • Providing discipline specific input into tenders and proposals as required.
  • Ensuring compliance to applicable/up to date standards, regulations, codes, and procedures.
  • Operating as Lead Engineer, when required.


To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience in a Lead or Head of discipline role within the oil & gas industry with UK bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in appropriate engineering subject (electrical).
  • Experience in selection of applicable codes, practices, standards, and statutory documentation.
  • Competence in the direction and organisation of discipline team within repair order, minor modification, and project environments.
  • Competence in the commercial, contractual, and administrative aspects of Engineering.
  • Competence in all aspects of discipline design (including multi-discipline) and use of analytical methods.
