MECHANICAL PROJECT MANAGER

Mechanical Project Manager * The Fastrack Department of our client are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Mechanical Project Manager to join their team. Our client was established over 30 years ago. The business delivers commercial HVAC, commercial electrical installations and renewables energy systems Nationally. As a business they focus on installing large combined M&E projects, maintaining energy focused systems including smart lighting, general power, solar PV, EV charging, BMS systems and HVAC controls. Their contracted work extends to retail, NHS sites, schools and care homes Outline of role: The Role – Mechanical Contracts Manager Manage Mechanical projects up to £1million. Be responsible for material and sub-contract purchasing. Be responsible for Supervisors, plumber, pipefitters, labourers, apprentices & sub-contractors. Liaising with project & site teams to control & review all contract work. Be able to prepare estimates for future works. Have good leadership & integrity in all aspects of the role. Ensure Health & Safety and QA compliance is maintained at all times on sites and worklocations including completing and issuing relevant RAMS. Dealing with Customer Enquiries and carry out site surveys/visits. Dealing with Project Planning. Dealing with Variations and Monthly Applications. Ensure projects are completed within the required timescale and on budget. Skills and experience required: * SMSTS * First Aid Certificate * Asbestos Awareness * NVQ level 3 in Heating and Ventilation (Gas systems) * Mechanical maintenance * Plantroom installations when on the tools- Have they changed designs, found errors on drawings. * Experience in using a variety of materials on different systems- ABS, Steel, Copper, Uponor etc * Unvented hot water qualification * Any F Gas experience * Ordering and take offs. Experience in costing projects. Relationships with merchants etc * CSCS Management Card Competencies/Skills Communications Organisation Time management Analytical, Mathematical Work well under pressure Work to deadlines and tight budgets Experience of working accurately and effectively with minimal supervision Team player Drives and has own vehicle Qualifications and Experience Experience within this type of role (3 years + preferred) Experience and good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word and Excel Experience of working with contracts between £20,000 and £1million Experience of time served as an Mechanical Engineer on the tools or a good understanding of electrical services or equivalent.
