The ideal candidate will have strong client facing skills, excellent communication and a minimum or 6 years' experience.
The Role
• Undertake detailed structural engineering design on variety of projects including food & retail industry, medical and large commercial buildings.
• Prepare technical presentations and reports following site surveys and at a variety of project work stages.
• Collaboration with Revit technicians in production of CAD / BIM models and documentation, working closely to achieve a timely project delivery.
• Contribute to net-zero carbo construction and engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
• Undertake site inspections, collaboration with clients, architects, other consultants, and contractors.
• Represent the company at meetings with clients, contractors, and the wider industry.
• Ensure an excellent level of service is delivered consistently, design decisions are met, and project work is carried out within the agreed deadlines and budgets.
• Proficient in Tekla Structural Designer or alternative FEM analysis & design software.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of structural design using a variety of building materials including traditional build, steel frame, reinforced concrete and timber frames, ideally working with significant structures.
• Ability to accept a degree of responsibility in a team-based organisation, combined with ability to work independently.
• Opportunity to take on some responsibilities in managing financial aspects of some projects preferable.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree BEng / BSc or Master’s degree MEng / MSc. Chartered or near Chartered
