We are looking for a talented, experienced ecommerce Shopify web developer to help us build stunning Shopify ecommerce websites & work with our growth retainer clients. As a Shopify web developer, you'll be working as part of a team of developers, designers, ecommerce consultants and project managers, to build top quality e-commerce websites on Shopify. You should be able to translate our company and customer needs into functional and appealing interactive solutions. What You'll Be Doing Developing e-commerce stores on the Shopify platform for a wide range of industries in a fast paced environment. Bug fixing and CRO within the Shopify platform for our support retainer clients. Bringing designs to life using Shopify API’s, Liquid & JSON. Working closely with the Lead Developer, operations team & development team to deliver projects. Collaborating and sharing ideas with the rest of the production and operations team. Staying up to date with new technology Working with the account manager or project manager to successfully estimate time required on jobs, communicate issues and pre-empt potential problems in suggested solutions Generating ideas with team members and offering insightful solutions to overcome challenges and blockers Be able to, in a professional manner talk through your work to clients Meeting tight deadlines with good time management. Attending meetings and briefings with clients and peers Maintain and manage existing source bases. Specify, develop and implement solutions to users’ needs and requirements. Creating visual mockups for solutions Be proactive at identifying and suggesting possible improvements to a client's store Review, test & improve code base and problem solve to implement solutions on technical blockers. Develop technical solutions to complex business problems. Take accountability for your own work and confidently demonstrate work to clients & make required changes based on client feedback. What we're looking forMust Haves You will have experience building high-quality, responsive Shopify stores with extensive knowledge of LIQUID (Shopify’s templating language). Excellent logical, coding, and digital development abilities Take a design in Figma and build with excellent knowledge of Cross-browser HTML5, ES6 and CSS3 (SCSS) will be second nature to you. Have extensive experience with Figma, Adobe or equivalent. You will have sound knowledge and experience of Javascript (vanilla, jQuery, JSON), HTML and CSS/SASS/SCSS and have API & Jquery experience . GIT/Version Control should be second nature to you. The ability to multitask between different projects, including switching between full build projects and bug fixing. A keen problem solver, you will be able to come up with creative solutions to our clients questions and think outside the pixel. You will be passionate about frontend with a focus on performance and standards and the user experience. You will have opinions and ideas about ecommerce development and be passionate about sharing those ideas and learning. Experience with 3rd party applications & scripts, such as Slick.js or flikity slider, Vue.js, Tailwind & Alpine You will care about the smallest of details and making sure everything functions to pixel perfection with a focus on quality. You’ll have good communication skills and the ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical people, internally and externally. Strong written and verbal communication skills The confidence to express ideas as part of a creative team and the ability to meet deadlines and think strategically Strive for personal and team excellence & the ability to “sell” your work and Squashed PIxel’s visions as a business to new & existing clients. Working hours may not always fall into the regular nine to five pattern, so a willingness to be flexible in order to meet client expectations and deliverables will be required as needed. Ability to work confidently within a team and independently Experience in an agency or in-house team Bonus points if you have Experience with similar e-commerce platforms (Magento, Woocommerce). Confidence in interpreting and working with third-party APIs Experience working with various Shopify API’s, custom applications and/or GraphQL. Experience with Alpine/Vue.js, React or similar technologies Experience with design softwares such as Figma or Adobe XD & ability to actively design wireframes & mock ups as required.
