Programmer / Planner £30,000 - £50,000 Waltham Abbey My client are specialists in fully supported hard metal roofing, facades, cladding systems, and flat roofing for all types of projects. Working with some of the UKs largest manufacturers systems, including inverted hotmelt, built-up-felt warm roofs, single ply and cold applied liquid plastics, they are looking for an experienced Programmer to join their growing team. This role has become available due to my client growing at a rapid rate with many projects across the UK. The Duties: Daily tasks will change depending on the day and the project but can consist of: * Creating, maintaining and reviewing a programme of work (both in pre-contract and post contract stages) * Producing progress reports and revising programmes and forecasts for team members using planning//programme software (Microsoft Project or Asta) * Breaking large projects down into phases of development * Using project management tools to plan timeframes * Working with Estimators to calculate the resources needed for a project * Planning contingency programmes in case timeframes change * Meeting with contractors and suppliers and discuss and review programme issues and discussions * Demonstrating knowledge of construction (mainly with roofing and façade works) * Working between office based staff and site based staff to ensure consistency on programmes and sequence. * Producing procurement/design programmes in line with agreed construction programmes * Critical reviews of programmes for Extension of Time Requests, identifying delays, hold ups and additional works * Basic understanding of requirements for Extension of Times/Compensation Events so can be accurately reflected within programmes. The Requirements * 5 years planning experience * Knowledge of building construction and sequence. * Able to use a computer and the main software packages competently (e.g. Microsoft Project, Asta) * UK driving licence. * Knowledge of English language * Able to work well with others * Analytical thinking skills * Excellent verbal communication skills * Persistence and determination * Ambition and a desire to succeed * Business management skills
