Setting Out Engineer - Civils

Job Title: Setting Out Engineer Location: Hertfordshire    Rate: Outside IR35 / Umbrella CIS (awaiting IR35 Determination) Duration: 7 months Start: 14th October Work Pattern: 5 days of site/office People Group  is looking for a Setting Out Engineer to work with the civils team on a major infrastructure project. Key Responsibilities: Perform setting out and surveying duties on various surfacing and asphalt projects. Interpret and execute engineering drawings, plans, and specifications. Coordinate with site managers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure accurate implementation. Monitor and report on progress, quality, and compliance with safety standards. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during the construction process. Maintain accurate records, including site diaries, as-built drawings, and progress reports. Ensure all works are carried out to the highest standard within time constraints.Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer, and competent in Set-out, as-builts, surveys, levelling. Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and best practices. Proficiency with setting out equipment such as total stations and GPS. Familiarity with relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and ability to produce and interpret technical drawings. Valid CSCS card and relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., HNC, HND, or degree in Civil Engineering or related field)
