Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent - Full time
What will you be responsible for?
As an Engineer, you'll be working within the Asset & Professional Services team, supporting them in developing and designing highway maintenance schemes using best practice asset management principles as part of annual plan delivery in North Northamptonshire and West Northamptonshire.
Your day to day will include:
- Planning, developing and implementing highway maintenance schemes to specification, budget and agreed targets while liaising with project teams and clients
- Developing and producing detailed AutoCad scheme drawings, preparing bills of quantities, inspection and test plans and suitable scheme pre construction information documentation
- Delivering detailed designs with minimal supervision in accordance with approved design procedures and systems
- Interpreting and communicating on legislation, regulations, policies, strategies and technical guidance across the team as appropriate and making sure cases for any departures are authorised and presented for approval
What are we looking for?
This role of Engineer is great for you if:
- You hold a HNC / HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering with experience in highways maintenance
- A thorough understanding of highway design principles with the ability to produce drawings in AutoCAD, together with use of Keysign, Keyline and AutoTrack software
- Good Working knowledge of H&S including CDM 2015 and a driving licence to visit various sites / depots
