Mechanical Fitter

Mechanical Fitter Location: Midlands & South of England (site-based, travel required) Overview: Our Client is well respected within the water industry and are looking for mechanical fitters to join their team, focusing on the assembly and installation of fabricated products like scraper bridges, gravity thickeners, aerators, and access steelwork for water and wastewater treatment plants. Responsibilities: - Install heavy fabricated steel structures and pipework (mild/stainless steel). - Ensure systems meet British, ISO, and client standards. - Conduct repairs, upgrades, and refurbishments on existing systems. - Apply best practices for ‘right first time’ installations. - Collaborate with colleagues, customers, and contractors. - Comply with Health & Safety policies and complete daily reports. Requirements: - Engineering qualification (City & Guilds / HNC or equivalent). - 2+ years' experience in mechanical fitting, steelwork assembly, and welding. - Experience in water industry installations (scraper bridges preferred). - Willingness to travel with overnight stays. - Full driving licence.
