Scottish Power Renewables are looking for a Foundations Design Engineer to join their East Anglia 2 project, based in either London or Glasgow.


Position Title: Foundations Design Engineer

Project: East Anglia TWO Offshore Wind Farm

Duration: Initial contract until 31/12/2024 with annual renewal in line with the project

Working Location: Tudor Street, London or St Vincent Street, Glasgow/hybrid style working

Working Pattern: Monday- Friday 5 days a week (Required to be in the office 2 days a week the minimum)

Rate: Inside IR35, Umbrella and PAYE options available


Main Purpose of Job

To manage the delivery by an external consultant of the primary steel structural design within the WTG foundations design scope, including key criteria such as certification of the foundation design and key interfaces (IAC, WTG, T&I, etc.), reporting to the Foundation Design Manager.


Key Tasks

  • To ensure that foundations structural design is delivered according to employer's requirements, safety and quality standards within Iberdrola Group.
  • To review the inputs and deliverables from the designer. Management of comments to structural design documentation.
  • To provide technical support to the Design Manager from a structural point of view.
  • To manage the structural input on the interfaces with Installation and Inter Array Cable installation. To identify risks and effectively manage mitigation measures.
  • Reporting to the Design Manager, to act as the key contact person for primary steel design discipline within the Foundations Package. To attend to meetings both face to face and tele conference.
  • Review primary and secondary steel reports and drawings providing meaningful comments to the foundation designer.
  • To lead on achieving foundation design certification through interfacing and managing the flow of information with the project certifier and foundation designer.
  • Be responsible for managing the T&I work scopes with the foundation designer and contribute to the delivery of inputs for the T&I contractor to carry out their design obligations.


Key Criteria

Essential

  • Relevant Engineering degree qualification.
  • Strong post-graduate experience in industry with at least 3-years in offshore wind.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Systems, including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Relevant experience in offshore wind project delivery with proven track-record of planning and organisation.
  • Good knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation within area of work associated with offshore/marine projects.
  • A strong working knowledge of technical codes and standards for foundation design and offshore working procedures and guidelines.


Desirable

  • Chartered Engineer with relevant professional body.
  • Experience in management of interfaces in offshore wind projects.
  • Working understanding of T&I analysis and requirements.
  • Flexible to travel occasionally as required for meetings, workshops or team socialisation in UK, Spain, Germany, Denmark, France.
